Aside from my work in C4D, I'm interested more broadly in how the principles of both operations management and complex systems theory can help create better-designed development initiatives. In layman's terms, that means rethinking how and why services are created and delivered, as well as making those delivery systems as resilient as possible.

My thesis work was on the application of these principles to the development of sustainable public-private partnerships; the short version is here (long version forthcoming).

In a related vein, I've also done work on the relationship between resilience and social capital, and how changes in societal systems impact decision-making behaviors; some of that was published here. I'm currently looking at whether that work can be adapted to fit within a larger systemic framework.
